MELBOURNE-BASED BUILDER TO DELIVER RICHMOND HIGH SCHOOL SECOND PRECINCT
Melbourne’s own ADCO Constructions has been awarded the contract to build the new Richmond High School’s second precinct.
Member for Richmond Richard Wynne made the announcement today that the education facility building specialists will construct the Richmond High School academic precinct.
The $43 million school will be the first vertical government high school built in Victoria. The Andrews Labor Government promised to return secondary education to Richmond after it was dismantled by the Liberals – and that’s exactly what we’re doing.
Richmond High School’s first precinct is already under construction and is set to open its doors to a wave of Year 7 and 8 students by the beginning of next year. The academic precinct being built by ADCO Constructions will be complete by January 2019.
ADCO Constructions is also constructing the $44 million South Melbourne Primary School – another school being built by the Labor Government and set to open next year.
Victoria’s massive infrastructure pipeline is creating more than 50,000 jobs, with about 5,000 construction jobs to be created through school infrastructure alone.
The Labor Government’s total investment in our schools has topped $2.5 billion. It includes more than 1,000 existing school projects and 56 new schools.
