MORE WEEKEND BUSES, MORE OFTEN FOR CLIFTON HILL
Weekend buses on Route 246 between Elsternwick, the City and Clifton Hill will start earlier and finish later, allowing passengers to enjoy the city for longer.
Member for Richmond Richard Wynne today announced from 29 October, the popular route will get extra late night services between Clifton Hill and Elsternwick on Saturday evenings.
Sunday morning services will start 45 minutes earlier at 7am and will run every 15 minutes during daytime. Services in the early morning and evening will also run every 20 to 30 minutes.
Two extra Saturday night trips means the last service now leaves Clifton Hill towards the city at 11.50pm and the last service departs Elsternwick at 12.35am Sunday morning.
Route 243 connects passengers to many key destinations including six train stations, the MCG, the Alfred Hospital and Luna Park.
This upgrade is part of the Labor Government’s Better Bus Services program, which is delivering more bus services, more often across Victoria.
Updated timetable information will be available at ptv.vic.gov.au one month prior to the change.
