NO HOUSING FOR THOSE IN NEED IN NAPTHINE’S BUDGET
Denis Napthine has shut the door on 36,000 Victorians languishing on the state’s housing waiting list.
The Budget does not provide any new funding for new public or social housing.
For the first time, the state will sell more social housing that it will build.
The budget papers confirm that, despite more demand for emergency housing, Victoria’s social housing stock will shrink.
The average waiting time for public housing applicants in urgent need has blown out by 35 per cent under Denis Napthine.

- The number of households assisted with crisis or transitional accommodation continues to fall, with the target for 2014/15 reducing from 9,400 to 9,000.
- In the March 2014 quarter the Napthine Government was responsible for adding 1100 people to the state’s public housing waiting list.
