Question to Planning Minister: Domestic Wastewater Management Plan

8 October 2015
Legislative Assembly

Mr T. SMITH to ask the Minister for Planning — With reference to the development of a Domestic Wastewater Management Plan (DWMP) in Mansfield Shire, have any domestic wastewater treatment plants in Mansfield Shire been inspected as required by the DWMP and Environmental Protection Authority?

ANSWER:

I am informed that:

Domestic Wastewater Management Plans are a requirement under the State Environment Protection Policy (Waters of Victoria) which is administered by the Environment Protection Authority under the Environment Protection Act 1970 (the EPA Act). The Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Water has responsibility for the EPA Act.

This matter falls within the portfolio responsibilities of my colleague the Hon Lisa Neville MP, Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Water and it is appropriate that Minister Neville provides a response to your question.
